Meet the Author

Kathleen Latlip spends her days editing television and wrangling two very active children. She spends her nights eating kids cereal and writing stories.

Creating stories is Kathleen’s happy place. She’s been writing her whole life: from poems to screenplays and now children’s books.

Interesting(-ish) bits about Kathleen:

  • She grew up in three different states (West Virginia, Texas, Missouri) before planting her feet in California.
  • She moved to California with only a suitcase, a cat and a head full of dreams.
  • She’s worked on several Hollywood blockbuster movies as well as some of television’s most popular shows.
  • She ran the Honolulu marathon.
  • Her grandparents were high-divers who started “The Latlip Family Circus.”
  • She’s part of several social groups which help bring people together for the greater good.

Meet the Illustrator

Gert is an illustrator and animator from Belgium. His art got published in several books including educational editions. He created a comic strip with the artist Floris called Zwuqies in the magazine Farfelu, he worked on storyboards, animations and visuals for live performances and the theatre. He is now a freelance illustrator, teaches and researches at LUCA School Of Arts.

Gert’s style is a mix between cartoon and surrealism. he uses a lot of clean lines and minimal colors. He especially likes to dream up bizarre characters in unusual situations. He draws and paints digitally and loves to experiment with these techniques.
